Prasar Bharati Doordarshan News has released a Notice Inviting Applications for the contractual engagement of Correspondents and Senior Correspondent under DG: DD News. The engagement will be on a full-time contract basis for one year.

Remuneration

Correspondent:
Negotiable between ₹60,000 and ₹80,000 per month.

Senior Correspondent:
Negotiable between ₹80,000 and ₹1,25,000 per month.

Eligibility for Correspondent

Candidates should have a Degree or PG Diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a relevant field.

For RNU Imphal, candidates should have proficiency in Hindi and English along with proficiency in the respective regional language.

For RNU Lucknow, Varanasi and Dehradun, Hindi proficiency and knowledge of English are desirable.

Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in the relevant field.

Age:
Below 40 years as on the date of notification.

Eligibility for Senior Correspondent

Candidates should have a Degree or PG Diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a relevant field.

Candidates should be bilingual in Hindi and English along with proficiency in the respective regional language.

Experience:
At least 7 years of experience in the relevant field.

Age:
Below 45 years as on the date of notification.

Nature of Work

Selected candidates will be responsible for reporting from the ground, supplying news content to the newsroom, hosting live segments, taking interviews, preparing tic-tacs, writing and voicing stories, getting stories and programmes edited, preparing voiced packages, and providing content for social media. They may also be assigned newsroom-related work and other duties by the controlling officer or supervisor.

Senior Correspondents will also be expected to keep a close watch on social, economic and political developments in the assigned region and provide inputs, including live inputs, in Hindi and English.

Important Conditions

The engagement is purely contractual. Selected candidates will not have any claim for regular appointment or absorption in Prasar Bharati. The engagement will be full-time, and selected candidates will not be allowed to take up any other assignment during the contract period. Prasar Bharati may conduct a test or interview for shortlisted candidates.
