The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Ministry of Education, Government of India, has invited applications for its Doctoral Fellowship schemes for the Financial Year 2026–27.
Applications are invited for the following fellowship schemes:
Full-Term Doctoral Fellowship Scheme
Short-Term Doctoral Fellowship Scheme
Contingency Grant Scheme
The online application process starts on 15 June 2026, and the last date for submitting the online application is 14 July 2026.
Candidates must submit their applications through the ICSSR online portal. Applicants are advised to read the detailed guidelines carefully before filling the form. A scholar can apply for only one fellowship scheme in a financial year.
Applications must be complete and supported with the required documents. The affiliating institution, supervisor, or ICSSR Research Institute must forward applications wherever required, as per the guidelines. Incomplete applications or applications without the required forwarding letters may be rejected.
