The Associated Press is seeking a reporter to cover Ukraine through breaking news and original, visually driven journalism on a one-year fixed-term contract.
The Kyiv-based role involves working with text, photography, video and other formats, collaborating across AP’s newsroom and undertaking occasional short-notice travel. Flexible shifts, including nights and weekends, may be required.
Mandatory requirements include permission to work in Ukraine, professional Ukrainian, advanced English, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, and basic photo/video skills. At least three years of newsroom experience is preferred.
This is not a location-independent remote opening. Applicants should assess the practical and safety implications of the duty station.
