Arab Media & Society is inviting full-paper submissions for Issues 42 and 43 on the theme “Media Transformation and the Public Sphere.”
The special issue examines how digital, mobile and platform-based communication is reshaping public life across Arab societies and diasporic spaces.
Possible subjects include
- Short-form video, livestreaming, podcasts and mobile-first formats
- Streaming, broadcasting and changing delivery systems
- Entertainment, sports and popular culture as arenas of public debate
- Creators, influencers and new forms of communicative authority
- Messaging platforms, algorithmic visibility and platform governance
- AI-generated content, misinformation, deepfakes and credibility
- Political communication, strategic communication and crisis reporting
- Digital ethnography, audience research, production studies and computational methods
Submission requirements stated in the call include a Microsoft Word file, Chicago Manual of Style 17th edition author-date referencing, a maximum of 10,000 words including references and notes, author details, ORCID and an abstract of no more than 150 words.
