India’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting held a national conference with Information and Public Relations secretaries from States and Union Territories in New Delhi on 25 August 2026.
The discussions covered information, broadcasting, media and the creative economy. Areas identified for closer Centre–State collaboration included infrastructure, ease of doing business, capacity building, regional content and local creative ecosystems.
The Ministry highlighted WAVES 2027, WAVES Bazaar, WaveX and the Create in India Challenges as national platforms that could connect creators and start-ups with markets, investors, technology and international partnerships. It also called for closer coordination among PIB regional offices, State I&PR departments, Doordarshan and Akashvani for State-specific content and outreach.
Important verification note: This was a policy and coordination conference, not a new grant, job or application call. Any future participation opportunity should be verified separately through official MIB or WAVES channels.
