Apple announced a major Apple Creator Studio update on 30 June 2026, including new AI-assisted tools for Final Cut Pro on Mac and iPad.

Generate Captions transcribes audio and places subtitles on the timeline. Edit Detection analyses an exported or rendered video and separates it into editable clips. On Mac, Auto Mask can identify elements such as skin, hair, sky, foliage and clothing for targeted adjustments. The update also includes improved Match Color, Advanced Trimming and the ability to send a selected frame to Pixelmator Pro and return it to the Final Cut Pro timeline.

Availability depends on the device, operating system and subscription or purchase model. Apple states that Generate Captions requires supported hardware and is currently limited to US English. Users should consult Apple's compatibility notes before relying on a specific feature.
