The inaugural Language, the Self and AI symposium is inviting interdisciplinary proposals for an in-person event at SSML Pisa, Italy, from 12 to 14 May 2027.

Research tracks include:

  • Human–AI interaction and professional practice
  • AI, disinformation and epistemic integrity
  • Language, society and public discourse
  • Pedagogy, training and disciplinary futures

Media-relevant topics include AI-generated disinformation, deepfakes and synthetic voice, algorithmic amplification, multilingual fact-checking, journalism and institutional discourse, authorship, identity, low-resource languages, AI literacy and academic integrity.
