The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) and the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) invite applications for their nationwide Research Article Competition 2026. The initiative encourages undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students to interpret audit findings, fiscal records and governance data through accessible, analytical and visually engaging research.

Research themes include fiscal federalism and governance; social-sector spending; skilling, employment and MSMEs; and empowering urban and rural local bodies. The competition is relevant to social-science researchers, data journalists, public-policy students and governance communication scholars.

Total prize pool: approximately ₹1 crore across the competition; this is not an individual award.

State-level submission deadline: 31 August 2026.

National-level submission deadline: 30 September 2026.
